As with any industry, there are good and bad companies.  For us, network marketing is NOT pitching our family and friends to join us in the latest scheme.  It is NOT filling our garage with products that we won't use.  True, we've tried a few companies and sponsors to find a good one - but now, with years of experience and education behind us, we've learned a couple things that can save you months or years of work.
 
 
 
 What is Network Marketing? - It is a way of distributing product direct to the consumer from the factory - thus cutting out the wholesaler, retailer, and in most cases, marketing costs involved in all the products you buy at the store.  The money saved is then paid to the person or customer that referred you to the company.  Companies like Avon, Amway, Prepaid Legal, etc are good examples of Network Marketing companies.
 
Is Network Marketing for Me? - Network marketing is here to stay.  There are more and more products available solely through network marketing.  The former stigma of the 'opportunity meeting' is being replaced with the professionalism of Wall Street companies and a multi-billion dollar industry.  I believe that every entreprenuer should get involved in a network marketing company.  Kiyosaki, author of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" calls it the "perfect business".  If nothing else, the training you receive in sales and business - combined with the tax benefits of home based business ownership are unsurpassed.
Can I Make Money? - There are more millionaires made from network marketing every year than any other industry.  However, an estimated eight of ten people who get involved in network marketing don't make any money.  Of course, a few of these just signed up be customers - but the reality is that too many sign on for a 'get rich quick scheme' and don't bring a good work ethic to their business.  If you get involved, do your homework (reading) and treat it as a business, actually scheduling hours each week that you are working, you will be in the 20% who make very good money.
 
But I've Tried this Before and Failed - There are many 'reasons' why people fail in network marketing.  Did you succeed the first time you climbed on a bicycle?  How about the first time you tried to make a sale in a 'traditional' business?  Did you make the first basket you shot in basketball? - Anything that is worthwhile will take some practice, education, and time.  Again - this is not a get-rich-quick program.  It is honest, hard work.  But if you are willing to learn it - the rewards of residual income, time freedom and leverage are unbeatable.
